Noisy Arrival Causes a Stir - Los Angeles Times
I have something to add to this story about the noisy arrival of the Space Shuttle Discovery yesterday. My Handsome Husband has just started a job in Southern California, and told me about HIS experience of the shuttle's arrival yesterday.
He said he was out in the parking lot getting ready to go to work when he heard these two really loud bangs. He didn't know what it was, but as he stood there, he saw a pigeon literally fall out of the sky. He watched the bird walking around in circles for about an hour before going to work! It wasn't until he turned on his radio on the way to work that he learned that the noises were sonic booms from the Shuttle going by.
